World Oral Health Day 2025

Thursday, March 20, is World Oral Health Day. This year’s campaign slogan is “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Mind”. The campaign thus focuses on the connection between oral health and mental well-being.

Oral diseases share common risk factors with many other non-communicable diseases. Some of the most important factors are tobacco, alcohol, high sugar intake and socioeconomic conditions.

Dia de Andalucia

February 28th is Andalusia Day and a regional holiday here in Andalusia. Clinica Dental Noruega is closed and we will be back as usual on Monday, March 3rd.

It celebrates the referendum held on February 28th, 1980, in which Andalusia voted to become an autonomous region within Spain in accordance with the possibilities provided for in Article 143 of the Spanish Constitution of 1978. The referendum on February 28th came after the great autonomous demonstration on December 4th, 1977, in which approximately two million people took to the streets to demand independence for Andalusia under the slogan “Freedom, amnesty and autonomous status.”

Today, Spain consists of 17 autonomous regions and two autonomous cities. Andalusia is the largest autonomy in terms of area.

This is what it looks like after Mercacentro is gone

The plot next to the Edifico Tres Coronas where Clinica Dental Noruega is located is now a big hole and construction site, since Mercacentro in Fuengirola was demolished. This is what it looks like now. It will probably be really nice when they have built a new market hall with restaurants. But it would have been nice if they had made an open square with trees and green areas here in the middle of the city center. To enter the Tres Coronas building, just like before, you press the code 403 followed by the button with a bell. Then we can open the gate from the inside.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We wish all our patients a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Clinica Dental Noruega will be closed between December 23 and January 1. On Thursday January 2 we will be back at the clinic as usual. If you would like to book an appointment while we are closed, you can do so by emailing info@clinicadentalnoruega.com

When should you change your toothbrush?

How often should you change your toothbrush and how do you know when it’s time? The toothbrush is a hygiene item that in some cases is not replaced often enough. You should replace your toothbrush as soon as the bristles on the brush start to spread out in different directions. It’s the tips of the bristles that scrub and clean your teeth. In order for them to reach into all the small spaces and clean properly, they need to be straight and fresh.

As a guideline, we usually say that three months is a reasonable lifespan for a good toothbrush. Then it’s time to change it. Depending on how hard you brush, you may need to do it more often.
