On Wednesday 7/10, it is a local holiday in Fuengirola, and Clinica Dental Noruega will be closed. It is the town’s patron saint “La Virgen del Rosario” who is being celebrated. Rosario means rosary in Spanish, but it can also mean a series of prayers to honor the 20 mysteries of life and the works of Christ and the Virgin Mary. The rosary is used to keep track of the order of all these prayers. 

In connection with La Virgen del Rosario, Fuengirola holds its feria, which is mainly celebrated at the fairgrounds (el recinto ferial), featuring a traveling fairground and all the Casetas remaining open until the early morning hours. 

The church in the center of Fuengirola at Plaza de la Constitución is named after the patron saint.
